The end of the year performance of our school "Mamma Mia"

Mama Mia on the works!!!

As part of our Creative Way, Winners Education students put up a  set of plays  every summer. 

This year we decided to become much more ambitious, putting up the reknown musical Mama Mia!

Σαν μέρος της Δημιουργικης Μεθόδου μας, οι μαθητές της Winners Education ανεβάζουν παραστάσεις κάθε καλοκαίρι. Εφέτος αποφασίσαμε να ανεβάσουμε μια πολύ πιο φιλόδοξη παράσταση, το πασίγνωστο musical Mama Mia!

The whole school is involved in this wonderful, creative adventure!

The performance director,Miss Christine, along with a commitee of  teachers auditioned  candidates for the main roles and  "actors" from among the students were given the roles that best suit their personality. Other students, who love dance, took on creating the choreographies for the songs which will be performed by different classes, while others still are in charge of the organisation and scenery. 

Όλο το σχολείο συμμετέχει σ' αυτήν την υπέροχη, δημιουργική περιπέτεια!

Η έμπειρη σκηνοθέτις μας, κυρία Χριστίνα, έκανε οντισιόν με όλους τους υποψήφιους μαθητές για τους κύριους ρόλους και οι "ηθοποιοί" επιλέχθηκαν σύμφωνα ε τον ρόλο που τους ταιριάζει καλύτερα. Άλλοι μαθητές, έξοχοι χορευτές και χορεύτριες, ανέλαβαν τις χορογραφίες για ΄λοες τις τάξεις, ενώ άλλοι μαθητές ανέλαβαν την οργάνωση και τα σκηνικά.

Rehearsals started early on in April and every afternoon the neighbourhood resonates with the catchy Abba music and the students recitig their roles. 

Οι πρόβες άρχισαν νωρίς-νωρίς τον Απρίλη και κάθε απόγευμα η γειτονιά ξεσηκώνεται από τα υπέροχα τραγούδια των Abba και τα γέλια των μαθητών που προβάρουν τους ρόλους τους!

Actually, it comes as no surprise that the judges had such a hard time chosing the winners.

Well done to our team members and a big BRAVO to all the students of B1+
from our school! This was our first effort and we promise we'll have as much fun and learn even more next year!

Winners Education in the Global Virtual Classroom contest

Some time ago  we wrote a post to let you know about the website our B1+ class was designing along with two other schools, St Mark's Secondary Public School from India and Meadowcreek High School from USA. 
Πριν λίγο καιρό γράψαμε για τον ιστότοπο που σχεδίαζε η Β1+ σε συνεργασία με δυο άλλα σχολεία, το Γυμνάσιο St Mark's από την Ινδία και το Γυμνάσιο Meadowcreek από τις ΗΠΑ, για να πάρουμε μέρος σε έναν διεθνή σχολικό διαγωνισμό.

We called our website "Biomes-The Cradles of Life" because we feel that there is no greater miracle than that of life on our planet! Our B1+ students did a lot of hard work and enjoyed learning:
Ονομάσαμε την ιστοσελίδα μας "Οικοσυστήματα- Τα Λίκνα της Ζωής" επειδή πιστεύουμε οτι το μεγαλύτερο θαύμα πάνω στον πλανήτη μας είναι αυτό της ζωής! Μέσα από αυτή την εμπειρία οι μαθητές της Β1+ έμαθαν:

• to find information online /να βρίσκουν πληροφορίες στο διαδύκτυο
• where to look for free images to be used in their school work/που να ψάχνουν για free εικόνες για τις σχολικές τους εργασίες 
• to respect copyright issues/ να σέβονται τα πνευματικά δικαιώματα
• to write in an appropriate style/ να γράφουν σε κατάλληλο ύφος
• to create a collaborative project with partners from other countries/ να συνεργάζονατι για την δημιουργία ενός ομαδικού project με συνεργάτες από άλλες χώρες
• to plan so as to meet a deadline /να προγραμματίζουν ώστε να ανταποκρίνονται σε προθεσμίες

Μερικοί μαθητές μάλιστα δημιούργησαν τα υπέροχα έργα ζωγραφικής που μπορείτε να δείτε στις διάφορες σελίδες.

We are proud to say that our team, 1214, did a great job creating a site that is
both spectacular and informmative. Well, here's what the Home page  of our website looks like. The design period is over and now we keep our fingers crossed while the judges decide which was the best work.
Είμαστε περήφανοι που η ομάδα μας, η 1214, έκανε τόσο εξαιρετική δουλεία δημιουργώντας μια ιστοσελίδα που είναι όχι μόνο υπέροχη αλλά και τόσο πληροφοριακή! Να λοιπόν η αρχική μας σελίδα. Η περίοδος δημιουργίας τελείωσε και τώρα περιμένουμε με κομμένη την ανάσα την απόφαση των κριτών...

A big THANK YOU to the teachers, Μrs Monica Uppal  from India and Mrs Pintu Thaker  from USA and their team for our collaboration. It was great meeting and collaborating with you. Let's hope we'll meet in person one day!

Ένα μεγάλο ΕΥΧΑΡΙΣΤΩ στις καθηγήτριες κα Monica Uppal από την Ινδία και κα Pintu Thaker από τις ΗΠΑ καθώς και στις ομάδες τους για την συνεργασία. Χαρήκαμε πολύ που σας γνωρίσαμε και δουλέψαμε μαζί σας. Ελπίζουμε να συναντηθούμε και προσωπικά κάποια μέρα!

My Winners Day

The event for the 20 years of Winners Education was a wonderful experience ...
Η γιορτή για τα 20 χρόνια της Winners Education ήταν μια υπέροχη εμπειρία...  

... when our students from the past ame to talk about their memories from the school ....
...όταν οι παλιοί μαθητές μας ήρθαν να μοιραστούν τις μνήμες τους από το σχολείο...

 ..and present students explained how what they learn is not just focused on languages-which they learn perfetly anyway!- but on values and principles that lay roots nad help them open up wings to the future!
....και τα τωρινά παιδιά μας έδειξαν στην πράξη οτι η μάθηση στα Winners Education δεν εστιάζει απλά στις γλώσσες- που έτσι κι αλλιώς τις μαθαίνουν τέλεια!- αλλά σε αξίες και αρχές που τα βοηθούν να ρίξουν ρίζες σαν Ανθρωποι και να ανοίξουν φτερά στο μέλλον!  

 Enhanted, we heard fairytales from times past and present, tales of acceptane and sharing and reversal that are natural in life..... and the music from Ilias Pilalis' santouri carried us away to the world of magic...
Μαγεμένοι ακούσαμε παραμύθια από χρόνια και μέρη μακρινά, ιστορίες αποδοχής, και μοιράσματος και ανατροπών που είναι πάντα μέρος της ζωής.... κι η μουσική απ' του Ηλία του Πιλάλη το σαντούρι μας ταξίδεψε στον κόσμο του ονείρου...

We also shared the delcacies our sponsors had galantly provided, pizza and meatpies and delicious sweets...

Κι ακόμη μοιραστήκαμε τις λιχουδιές που οι χορηγοί μας είχαν γενναιόδωρα προμηθεύσει, πίτσα και κιμαδοπιτάκια και υπέροχα γλυκά...

Να τα εκατοστήσουμε!

20 χρόνια μεγαλώνουμε μαζί, μαθαίνουμε μαζί, δίνουμε ψυχή και παίρνουμε αγάπη. Γιορτάζουμε το... μέλλον του σχολείου μας την Κυριακή 24 Φεβρουαρίου 2013. Πόσο τέλειο θα είναι να είμαστε και πάλι μαζί!
